Legal Information dated: 05 May 2026
On 4 May 2026, the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy submitted for public consultation the latest draft bill on strengthening the application of the principle of equal pay for men and women for equal work or work of equal value.
The provisions are set to enter into force six months after the date of publication — at the turn of 2026 and 2027 at the earliest. The draft bill imposes a number of new obligations on all Polish employers relating to pay gap reporting and the assessment of the value of work. Failure to fulfil these obligations may result in a fine of up to 60,000 PLN. Employers with at least 150 employees will be required to submit their first report by 7 June 2027.
In this legal information, we explain precisely what the draft bill changes, who it affects, and how to prepare for it.
